Taco has been avoiding being trapped for a long time. His caretaker has been feeding him and a few others for years. Taco's mates were all trapped, spayed or neutered and then returned home, but Taco was having none of it. For the last few months, Taco has been sporting a wound that has gotten progressively worse and he has drawn the attention of most of the neighborhood. With the wound looking nastier and nastier, the efforts to trap Taco were intensified. After teamwork in the community and a persistent caretaker who pulled out every [...]

Founded 25 years ago today, Alley Cat Advocates has spayed or neutered more than 70,000 stray, free-roaming cats and has seen our community transformed into one that respects the needs of our citizens – cat lovers or not - and our community cats. After a successful capital campaign in 2019, Alley Cat Advocates was able to move into their current home at the Community Cat Complex located on the campus of Louisville Metro Animal Services. This move has enabled the organization to provide onsite spay/neuter surgeries and medical care for the cats. Adam Hamilton, Interim [...]
This Frosty doesn't have "two eyes made out of coal." Instead, he has two beautiful cat eyes that need some help. Frosty has a condition called entropion in his left eye. If you have been around awhile, you know that this happens when the eyelid curls inward and causes the hairs to rub against the eye. This irritation causes pain, and vision impairment and can lead to infections. Surgery will correct the problem and Frosty will go on his merry way soon. Meanwhile, please donate toward Frosty's surgery here.
Monthly recurring donations make it easy to support community cats all year long! We use your PayPal account to set up your monthly gift so you can easily manage and update your giving information. Set up your monthly recurring gift today or contactus@alleycatadvocates.org and we can do it for you.
Are you feeding community cats? Did you know that cold weather increases a cat’s energy and nutritional needs? You should provide extra food and extra water to prevent dehydration and replace it often to keep it from freezing. To prevent pests, only leave food out for 30 minutes to an hour and pick up any disposable plates or trash every time you feed. Learn more about feeding and feeding stations for community cats on our website. Read More Here
Big Moses will be so happy to have pain-free clear vision. This beautiful boy has been living life with entropion in both eyes. His eyelids curl inward, allowing fur to scratch against his eyes. It is very uncomfortable for him. Fortunately, this condition can be corrected. Alley Cat Advocates will make sure that Moses sees clearly very soon. Would you please help cheer Moses up by donating today toward his surgery today?
