In late 2018, Alley Cat Advocates accepted the opportunity to move our operations onto Louisville Metro Animal Services’ new campus with the lease of a freestanding building of approximately 4,500 square feet. To accommodate our needs, we began an $800,000 campaign to raise the funds to prepare this new Community Cat Complex for our use. When completed the building would provide adequate space to have, under one roof, the following functions: Spay/Neuter Clinic – allowing us to return to directly providing surgeries for our community cat clients and LMAS’ community cats, Medical Rehabilitation Space – allowing us to directly provide short-term care for community cats now being hospitalized and/or boarded at clinics throughout our community, Special Needs/Hospice Foster Space – allowing us to house the small number of community cats for whom return to outdoor life is inhumane in a location adjacent to LMAS’ adoption facility, providing easy access for citizens interested in adopting these special cats, and Office Space – replacing current leased space In February 2020, Alley Cat Advocates officially moved in and opened the doors to this brand new facility. To date over 5,000 cats have been TNR’d through the Community Cat Complex.
