Marcia Baker is an active retiree who LOVES cats. So it only makes sense that she would find herself volunteering with Alley Cat Advocates. After trying out a couple of volunteer positions in other organizations, Marcia did her research and decided that she would give Alley Cat Advocates a try. She says it is the best decision she has ever made. She loves the cats and has a real soft spot for Frank (seriously, who doesn’t love Frank?). Marcia was born almost 80 years ago in San Diego, CA. She was just 18 years old when she met her husband, Gene, who was in the Air Force. In 57 years of marriage they raised 3 sons, Steven, Dan, and David. She is also the proud grandmother to one grandson, Evan. After a long career, Marcia is happy to spend her time devoted to things she loves. Although physically unable to enjoy once favorite activities like bowling and gardening, Marcia stays busy reading, doing word puzzles and working jigsaw puzzles. She gets lots of help from her cat Macaroon (Mac) while working puzzles or cutting sheets into trap covers for Alley Cat Advocates. Around the office Marcia helps with phone calls, mailings, and is starting to do laundry as well. Her only regret – “I wish I had started volunteering long ago.”
