Lauren Kehr has been a volunteer with Alley Cat Advocates for over 20 years. In that time, she has served two terms on the board of directors, recruited and engaged volunteers through the Personnel Team, and given talks about Alley Cat Advocates and trap-neuter-return to groups and organizations across the area. Lauren has spent many hours doing hands on work at the Big Fixes. She has also shared her passion for helping community cats with others through community canvasing walks and tables at events. She enjoys mailing out thank you letters to donors, helping in the office weekly and helping caretakers at check-in, discharge and Saturday trap distribution. Lauren found out about Alley Cat Advocates from a small article in the newspaper. She decided to get involved when she met organization representatives at the St. James Art Festival. Lauren said she gets real satisfaction from “being a small cog in a well-oiled machine that has big successes and real purpose.” Lauren is just recently retired and while she was originally from Ohio, she has spent her entire adult life living in Kentucky. Lauren shares her life with 3 cats and her newest friend, a rescue dog with special needs!
