Alley Cat Advocates recently welcomed Rhiannon Langel and Laurel Slaughter, both students at the University of Louisville. Laurel is studying Communications and Rhiannon is studying Marketing. Both have chosen to spend the summer writing stories about Alley Cat Advocates’ work for cats and their caretakers, helping to organize and promote fundraisers, sharing information with our supporters via newsletters, web and social media.
Laurel will graduate in December and will earn college credit as part of her internship. She has always been an avid cat lover. She is currently a vet tech at Crescent Hill Animal Hospital and eventually wants to earn Veterinary Technician degree. When she isn’t helping animals, she spends her time taking pictures. She’s a sports photographer for The Cardinal student newspaper, and in her free time she enjoys documenting wildlife and landscapes.
Rhiannon, who works third shift at UPS, had been looking for an internship that would not only provide her with an exciting and educational experience, but would also satisfy her desire to work and help animals in any way possible. In her free time she enjoys reading Harry Potter books, playing on the computer, and hanging out with Princess and Blue, who were once community cats.
